My Illinois Photo Contest
To celebrate the Illinois bi-centennial, we are hosting a family-friendly photo contest open to CAPL cardholders ages 13 and up. Photos must have been taken in Illinois (at any time) and there is one entry per person. Photos must be 8 x 10 and may be in color or black and white. Submissions are due by Sunday, September 30, 2018. Photos will be displayed in the Library throughout the months of October and November. The winner will be determined by popular vote and announced on December 3, 2018, the anniversary date of Illinois statehood.
The winner will receive a $25 Visa gift card.

 

SPOON MAN
Friday, June 22, 1-1:45 pm
The “Spoon Man” is a hilarious interactive comedy program for all ages. He gives a real stirring performance.
Everyone will really eat him up– no bibs required. The “Spoon Man” has a totally clean act. He never uses dirty silverware. The “Spoon Man” will leave a lasting impression after playing on you (literally). It’s a spoonful of family fun. Please register everyone attending.

FAMILY GAME DAY
Saturday, June 23, 10:30 am-12 pm
Ages 3 and up. Come out with your sportsmanship to play games with family and friends. Games to be featured include Lawn Memory Game, Blanket Run, Lawn Jenga, Pool Noodle Target Throwing and more. Please register everyone attending.

BILL COOK MAGIC

MORRIS, THE MAGIC MAN
Thursday, August 2, 11 am-12 pm
Magic the entire family can enjoy, including effects for the youngest members as well as baffling tricks to entertain mom, dad, and all the siblings. Please register everyone attending.

BUILD-A-ROBOT
Sunday, July 22 1-4 pm
Ages 9-adult. Work with a partner to build one of the LEGO EV3 robot models that come with the education kit. Download the model program to activate your robot! Adults not required, but this is a great chance for parents or grandparents to share a STEM activity with your child.
