Browse, Checkout, & Go begins July 6

The building will be opening for browsing beginning Monday, July 6 with senior and modified hours.

Please read through these details carefully. Unlike businesses, we have used materials coming in which means we have to be more vigilant of safety measures. Please be patient with staff and other patrons when you visit.

  • Hours:

    • 9-10 am each day will be reserved for seniors aged 65+
    • Monday-Thursday 9 am-6 pm, 9-10 am senior hours (ages 65+)
    • Friday/Saturday 9 am-2 pm, 9-10 am senior hours (ages 65+)
    • Sunday – closed 
  • We will be enforcing a capacity limit of 40 patrons at a time, so we ask that you not linger in the building for extended periods or plan to meet others for business or tutoring (please limit your visit to an hour). Most furniture has been temporarily removed to allow and encourage social distancing
  • You must wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth while in the Library. If you choose not to or are unable to do so, you may use our Drive-up Window as your pick up location for holds or we will gather materials for you while you wait in the parking lot. If you have a health issue that prohibits you from wearing a mask, Homebound Delivery may be another option for you
  • Children 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver; children ages 2 and up must be wearing a mask
  • You may check out items with staff at the Service Center or use our self-checkout stations. If you have a bill to pay, you may do so online from home, at our self-checkout stations, or by mailing a check to us (we will not be accepting cash at this time)
  • Apart from our WiFi hotspots, Library of Things items are not available for checkout at this time
  • You may return items in our marked black bin as you enter the lobby or continue to return items to our 24/7 outside slots on the east side of the building
  • We are quarantining returned materials for three days. If you want to quarantine items at home before enjoying them, you may do so. It is not recommended to clean any items with disinfectant
  • Three adult and two children’s computers will be available for use on a first-come, first-serve basis with a strict time limit of one hour per day for CAPL cardholders only. Staff may be able to help in a limited capacity while maintaining a six-foot distance
  • The copying and faxing will be available for use. Staff will be stationed at the copier to assist here and at the computers. Staff may be able to help in a limited capacity while maintaining a six-foot distance
  • Study, conference, and meeting rooms are not available for public use 
  • We will not be accepting passport applications at this time 
  • We are not proctoring tests at this time
  • We are not accepting donations of materials at this time
