Are you looking for a part-time job that allows you to give back to your community? Then consider applying for a Public Services Associate position!

Our Public Services Associates provide assistance to patrons at our points of service including the Drive Up Window. Public Services Associates are often the first ones to interact with patrons, so being friendly and approachable is a necessity in this position. We also provide technology related assistance to patrons so being familiar with computers and other devices (tablets, smartphones, ereaders) is required.

The primary responsibilities of this position include providing excellent customer service by answering patrons’ questions in person and on the phone, placing holds and checking materials out, providing technology assistance, and accepting passport applications according to guidelines set by the Department of State. Hours
This is a part-time position, averaging 15 hours per week. The position has a mix of daytime, evening and weekend hours. All Public Services Associates are required to work one evening per week and one weekend per month.

Requirements

  • Associates degree, LTA degree, or equivalent in experience
  • Knowledge of reference and research procedures, materials and current technology
  • Knowledge of/interest in literature and library procedures
  • Ability to work pleasantly and effectively with the public and staff

Pay
Starts at $14/hour
