From October 17-19, our online catalog, account access, and some online services will be limited.
Two more area libraries, Wauconda and Rolling Meadows, are joining our consortium. Over 300,000 new items will be added to the catalog—bringing the total consortium collection to more than 5.4 million items that you will have access to. For their collections to be added, our catalog will have limited functionality October 17-19. We suggest acquiring all of your weekend materials (physical and digital) by Friday, October 16. Libby and Kanopy users: you will be able to access titles you have already downloaded; however, you will not be able to download any new items between October 17-19. *Hoopla and Palace Project users will not be affected by the downtime.
Services available during the downtime:
- Checkout physical materials
- Checkout already available holds
- Return physical materials (although they will not be checked in until after October 19)
Services not available during the downtime:
- Materials check-in (you may return physical items, but they will not be checked in from your account until after October 19)
- Placing new holds and Find More Illinois
- Paying fees/fines
- New library card sign-up
- Updates to your account and/or preferences
- Account functions, placing holds, and paying fees/fines in our app
- Libby (Digital Library of IL)
- Kanopy
- Explore More Illinois
