Sunburst Bay Pool Passes borrowing update

Since their debut two years ago, the Sunburst Bay Pool Passes from our Library of Things collection have been extremely popular. To help move through our long holds list quicker, we have made a few changes to the structure of the holds and checkout periods:

  • Passes will be held for 3 days. You will receive an automated message when the pass is available for you to pick up. You can check your notification settings in your online account, or by calling the Library.
  • The first round of holds will begin Thursday, May 22, making the passes available forĀ Sunburst Bay’s Memorial Day weekend hours.
  • You can pause your hold if you will be out of town, saving your place on the list but ensuring your hold will not lapse if you’re unable to pick it up. Holds must be paused before the pass becomes available for you to pick up. See instructions below to pause a hold online, or call the Library for assistance (847-639-4210, press 0).
  • We have added more passes and now have 6 sets of 2 passes.
  • The checkout period is 3 days.

How to pause holds online:

  1. Log into your online account from ourĀ catalog.
  2. Using the “My Account” toolbar on the right-hand side of the page, select the “Holds” link.
  3. From the list of your holds, select the check box next to the item you would like to pause, then select the button labeled “Pause/Resume Hold” at the bottom of the page.
  4. This will bring you to a new page where you can enter a new activation date, which is the date that you would like the hold to resume. Once you have entered the new date, click “Submit.”
