Sign up for our all-ages Summer Reading Challenge, Plant a Seed, Read, beginning June 1. Each age category (see below) has a goal in order to finish the program. New this year: earn an extra ticket into the grand prize drawing by completing one bingo on our sheet that includes fun activities, like attending a CAPL program, going on a picnic, and more reading, of course!
When you sign up, you’ll receive a prize to get you motivated, while supplies last. Track your books and you’ll earn a halfway prize, a finishing prize, and grand prize tickets as you go. The halfway and finishing prizes can be claimed beginning Monday, June 15. We recommend downloading the Beanstack Tracker app (on iOS |on Android), but you may also log your reading online through the Beanstack website. If you prefer, paper logs will be available June 1 at the Library or can be printed from our website below once the program begins.

Young Readers (infants-grade 1 in the fall) | Print a log
Read 40 books with or to your child to finish the challenge. Reading 10 books earns a digital badge and one grand prize ticket! There is the option to read more and/or complete the Bingo sheet to earn additional tickets.
Grand prizes: Choose between “Bloom & Grow,” “Diggin’ the Outdoors,” “Turnip the Beet,” or the “Sunburst Bay Swag Pack.”
Independent Readers (grades 2-5 in the fall) | Print a log
Read 4 books to finish the challenge. Each book earns a digital badge and one grand prize ticket! There is the option to read more and/or complete the Bingo sheet to earn additional tickets.
Grand prizes: Choose from “Summer Scares” (LEGO plant, mushroom plushie, Plants vs. Zombies box set and how to draw book, Deadliest Flower Facts book, and evil plant stickers), “Get Growing” (garden bag, tools, watering can, wildflower seeds, plant name stakes, an herb kit, Chia Pet, garden planning workbook, and plant resource book), “Cultivate Curiosity” (nature games, a butterfly hatching kit, nature journal, Forest Feast cookbook, seed exploration book, and mini plant statues), or a Santa’s Village Prize Pack (4 free admission passes to Santa’s Village Amusement and Water Park, and 2 Free Admission Passes to Polar Ice Dome Ice Rink at Santa’s Village)
Teens (grades 6-12 in the fall) | Print a log
Read 2 books to finish the challenge. Each book earns a digital badge and one grand prize ticket! There is the option to read more and/or complete the Bingo sheet to earn additional tickets.
Grand prizes: Choose from “Bloom & Board” ($100 gift certificate to The Board House at Three Oaks Recreation Area), “Feast Mode” (five $20 gift cards to local food places), or “Grow Your Game” ($100 gift card to Dick’s Sporting Goods).
Adults (ages 18+) | Print a log
Read 4 books to finish the challenge. Each book earns a digital badge and one grand prize ticket! There is the option to read more and/or complete the Bingo sheet to earn additional tickets.
Grand prize: Choose which $50 gift card to win: Regal Showplace, Countryside, Conscious Cup, Cary Apothecary, Uncle Jerry’s Pizza, or The Pieceful Project.
