Using Beanstack

The “Beanstack Tracker” app is available for iOS and Android devices and allows for convenient book tracking for our Summer Reading, Winter Reading, 1000 Books Before Kindergarten, and Diamond Reading Challenge (2026) programs. If you’d prefer not to download the app, you can use the Beanstack website instead.

Watch a quick tutorial from Niche Academy on how to set up your Beanstack account.

General tips:

  • One-time sign-up: once you’ve signed up, you’re set for this program and any future program you want to participate in
  • You can enter the book you’re reading by searching the title, author, ISBN, or scanning the book’s UPC barcode. You may also log a book without specifying the title at all
  • The app offers a built-in timer to track your reading and see your real-time stats
  • Parents/caregivers can register their child(ren) and then log everyone’s reading (parents and each child) with just a couple of taps
  • Parents/caregivers with multiple children can log each child’s books quickly by selecting all the readers in the app (see the instructions below)

How to log multiple books at once (without entering the title) in the Beanstack app:

  1. Open the Beanstack app. Click the “ + “ symbol at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Select “Reading” to log your books.
  3. Choose the readers you want to log books for. If multiple readers have read the same amount of books, select multiple names. Then tap “Choose Readers.”
  4. Select “Log Without a Title.”
  5. Enter the number of books you/your readers have read.
  6. Tap “Done” at the bottom of the screen to log your reading.
