Then consider applying for a Circulation Associate position! Our Circulation Associates provide assistance to patrons at our points of service including the Drive-up Window. Circulation Associates are often the first ones to interact with patrons, so being friendly and approachable is a necessity in this position. We also provide technology-related assistance to patrons so being familiar with computers and other devices (tablets, smartphones, ereaders) is required.

The primary responsibilities of this position include providing excellent customer service by answering patrons’ questions in person and on the phone, placing holds and checking materials out, providing technology assistance, and accepting passport applications according to guidelines set by the Department of State.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree, LTA certificate/certification, or equivalent in experience.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and orally.
• Provide courteous and friendly service to patrons and staff.
• Willingness to help the Library become a more inclusive environment for both staff and patrons.

Hours
We have two year-round part-time positions available, averaging 15 hours per week.

One position is for the following hours: Tuesday 9 am-1 pm, Wednesday 9 am-1 pm, Thursday 9 am-1 pm, and the first weekend of the month (Saturday 9 am-5 pm, Sunday 1-5 pm).

The other position is for the following hours: Tuesday 9 am-1 pm, Wednesday, 5-9 pm, Friday 9 am-1 pm, and the fourth weekend of the month (Saturday 9 am-5 pm, Sunday 1-5 pm).

All Circulation Associates are required to work one weekend per month.

Pay
Position range is $15-18 per hour.
